Sunday 17th may a.m.
A strong blustery wind this morning with cloudy skies & occasional drizzle with a temperature of 9°C as we set off on our walk.We had a good start seeing three
House Martins back in their usual spot above the village, later than we've seen them in the past, also back are the
Swifts.As we went across the viaduct the wind was gusting but it didn't stop a
Mute Swan flying over & down to the reservoir below,also
Cormorant &
Kestrel went over us here.A
Chiffchaff was belting out its familiar tune as were
Willow Warblers & good numbers of
Swallows were over the reservoir with a couple more House Martins.A
Curlew &
Pheasant were in a field below us, other notables on our walk were
Canadas with goslings,
Oystercatcher &
Coot.A good walk round with the cob webs well & truly blown off & also good to see Bluebells in full flower.
